Go on a Safari in Casela Nature Park
Casela Nature Park in Mauritius offers a wide range of exciting activities for any adventurer. From walking with lions, to zip lining through the forest, Casela will keep your heart pumping all day long! We were a bit rushed when we went because we arrived after lunch, but we easily could have spent the entire day there. We got some time to walk around the bird cages, pet animals at the petting zoo, take a quick peak at the lions, and end our day there on a safari. It was a great way to explore Mauritius from a unique and adventurous perspective.
Stroll Through the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens
The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Gardens are a wonderful way to explore nature with your little one on a budget. When we visited the gardens, the entrance fee was only 200 MUR for my son, husband, and myself. The SSR Botanical Gardens provide the perfect amount of beauty and tranquility. As you stroll through the gardens on the winding walkways, you can marvel at the giant water lilies and gorgeous fauna. These gardens host many different plant species from around the world, and the wildlife is sure to keep you entertained. We easily spent a couple of hours there, just wandering on the trails and exploring.
Visit Local Parks & Playgrounds
Spending some quality outdoor time with your little one in Mauritius can be as simple as visiting a local park. From playgrounds for creative play, to peaceful walking paths, a park is a great way to enjoy affordable, quality family time while on vacation in Mauritius.

Here, the reds, purples, blues, and other colors swirl together to create a magnificent view. It is the perfect family spot where you can spend some time outside for a couple of hours. At Chamarel, you can also grab lunch at an outdoor café, try some delicious coffee from locally grown Arabica beans, discover pink pineapples, and even spot some giant tortoises!
