We are a traveling family. My husband and I have been married for 3 years and lived in 3 different countries since being married. I don’t want to say I am an expert at relocating, but I have picked up some useful information to consider when choosing somewhere to relocate. The latest location we relocated to was Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We have been here for almost a year now, and I absolutely love it! Because of this, I have compiled a list of five reasons to move to Dubai.

Safety
As a mother, safety is your number one priority. This is especially important when considering relocation. With Dubai being such a peaceful and secure city, it is easy to see why so many families call it home. It features some of the lowest crime rates of any city in the world. This gives parents an extra layer of comfort and peace of mind. The government has safety protocols in place making it an excellent place for families to raise their children.
Supportive Mom Groups
There are TONS of Facebook & WhatsApp groups here for moms. These are an excellent resource to have, as many of these moms have lived in Dubai for years and have a vast knowledge of anything “mom-related”. These groups offer different activities and levels of support, depending on what you are looking for. Some groups are for mom’s nights out, others are for play groups, and some are for crafting clubs. You just need to go through and find the group that is right for you and your little one.
Parks & Playgrounds are Everywhere
One of my favorite things about Dubai is that there are parks and playgrounds all over the city. These provide the perfect destination for quality, outdoor family time. Going to parks gives your kids the chance to meet other children, and you can start to build relationships with other families in the city. Another bonus is that most of the parks are free! This makes it an affordable place to take kids out on regular trips – all while enjoying the sun & getting a break from school and work.
Infant-Friendly Changing Rooms
This might sound a bit strange, but coming from the USA where the idea of a ‘changing room’ is a dirty, small changing table above a toilet in a public restroom, I was shocked when we moved here… In Dubai, you can find countless changing areas for babies in the city’s public bathrooms, with plenty of comfortable benches, changing tables, and even a play area so your other little ones can play while you are changing your infant’s diaper. Not only does this make parenting much easier, but it also helps to create a much more relaxing trip while being out.
Indoor Play Areas
Raising children in a hot climate can be a challenge during the summer months. However, if you’re living in Dubai, indoor play areas and amusement parks provide plenty of fun opportunities in the summer. Not only can indoor activities offer much-needed sanctuary from the heat of summer, but they also make for a brilliant family day out that can be enjoyed year-round. For your younger ones, there are various soft indoor play parks that you can go to. Our favorite is Fun Block. It is the perfect place for my two-year-old to run and play, and it is completely affordable! They have a monthly offer for 125AED, and this lets you go as many times as you want for the whole month!
There are countless reasons why Dubai is an ideal place to move for families. It provides a safe environment and offers activities that cater to both parents and children alike. Not to mention, the fact that the expat community of mothers living here is warm and supportive, which makes it even more desirable. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a change, or to try something new, it is worth considering relocating to Dubai. Whether you’re moving alone or with your family, it is an experience like no other.
